Objectives

To accelerate event comms for CoInnovate and gain impact on social media during the CoInnovate 2018 conference through a targeted content strategy and live tweeting throughout the day.

Result

Delegates numbers surpassed internal goals by 120%, and CoInnovate’s event hashtag trended in Cardiff throughout the day, with ten pieces of press covering the event. Positive feedback was received by speakers for their spotlight voxpops, increasing website and Twitter metrics to more than 193% month on month.

Challenges

CoInnovate has a targeted remit: to bring together academics, start-ups, and large manufacturers to discuss the challenges and opportunities of cutting edge technology to solve tomorrow’s problems. This meant that we had to be speaking in a highly technical language to engage our audience in content, on social, and when speaking to press.

Strategy

We dived into the world of our audience, ensuring that key messages were finely tuned to our audience, crafting content in the lead up to the event that directly spoke to their pain points and interests. Press releases were crafted, honed, and sold into press. We offered consulting advice on leveraging LinkedIn for business and website structure. On the day, two of our team attended, live tweeting and posting on LinkedIn, filming voxpops with speakers, engaging with conversations online, and driving further impact digitally by liaising with press at the event.
