The power of social media and digital platforms continues to amaze.
Using FaceBook and Eventbrite, careful scheduling and crafted, meaningful content, The Frampton Globe Trot (an off road race) sold out in 29 hours!

Over 200 runners will race 8 miles through mud, hills and water around Frampton Cotterell and Iron Acton in South Gloucestershire. All monies raised will go to Frampton Cotterell CofE primary school.
In the build-up to the sales launch, we created the Facebook page and a series of posts (some with a reach of over 1,500) and secured a couple of press articles to start with. With some savvy posting into third party networks, building up a sense of anticipation with visual posts and teasing commentary, when the entries went live, it only took 29 hours to sell out.
Timing was one thing and continued posting during the sales push was another. However pitching to local groups and those with running interests was a key element to the successful start.
Caroline commented:
“We love assisting events and event organisers as their projects are interesting and we can make a positive impact. Working on a sports event is especially meaningful as it promotes a healthy sustainable lifestyle that we are committed to as a company and individuals. And when it’s for a good cause, what is more to like about it?”
Sponsorship has also been snapped up with only 1 major place left to fill. The Globe pub, Finley George Recruitment, James Williams Tree Services, SGS College and Designs for Living by Claire Beckhaus are on the roll of honour helping to make the event cost neutral for the school.
Interested runners can either follow the Frampton Globe Trot on Facebook or sign up directly at Eventbrite.
