On Thursday 1 September 2016, Gregg Latchams Solicitors will be holding their second GL Business Network event at the Watershed in Bristol. The Internet of Us: What does privacy mean in the Digital Age will be an afternoon of exploration and debate of one of the pivotal issues of our generation, led by industry experts.
A networking lunch will be followed by an interactive phone hacking stage performance from Geoff White, award-winning television news journalist, with a focus on tech security, personal data and privacy. He will demonstrate how the global technology industry harvests data from our personal devices, and take us deep into the dark web: the hidden network where a black market in personal data is thriving.
Gregg Latchams’ own Ed Boal will then lead the debate on the issues surrounding privacy in the Digital Age. His panel of digital expertsincludes Geoff White, UWE Bristol’s Associate Professor Dr Glenn Parry, and world-renowned expert in Internet Law, Governance and Technology Emily Taylor.
It’s going to be an immersive and interactive event. The audience will be able to ask questions throughout the day, and email any burning questions to email@example.com at any point beforehand. You can also follow @GL_DigMediaTech or #InternetOfUs on Twitter.
Attendance at the event is free, but seats are limited. Make sure you’re there— email Rebecca Williams at firstname.lastname@example.org to book your place now.
