Objectives

Hubba’s goal as a sustainable waste management operation was to:

  • Increase revenues by 300%
  • Establish Hubba as the number waste and recycling operator in Thames Valley region
  • Increase corporate client acquisition
  • Launch contract cleaning services
  • Increase UK press coverage
  • Increase customer retention and referral

Results

Hubba is a small, regional business that aims to support companies in the Thames Valley region to become more sustainable. Their goal was not to take over the world (just yet)… so for them, an increase of over 3,500 in organic social reach and doubling their followers was an impressive achievement.

Challenges

As a resource management business, Hubba is a zero waste to landfill operator, focused on increasing recycling and recovery of all materials handled. Waste and recycling materials are a fixed by-product of human living, with an impact on carbon arisings, globally. Hubba is positioned to minimise this impact, turn materials into a resource whilst not acquiring labour and wheels. In essence Hubba is automating the circular economy… but they needed press coverage and big-name clients to get the word out there and start increasing their revenue and roster.

Strategy

We focused on four main channels to help Hubba increase their reach both online, and in their client base. We used social media to encourage new followers, likes, shares, mentions, and increased engagement levels. We renovated the Hubba website with an aim to increase the number of unique visitors, and gauge popular pages, exit pages, and bounce rate. We launched a digital newsletter and analysed the open rate, click rate, new subscribers, and unsubscribers. And in the press, we focused on  column inches, advertising, and readership levels.
