The Objective

We’ve worked with Tovie AI – a conversational and generative AI firm working across financial services, telecommunications, retail, call centres and the health sector – in the past to raise awareness of their brand and innovative products. That’s why we were thrilled to join forces with them once more as they prepared for a new challenge, this time in the public sector with their new pilot project partnering Richmond and Wandsworth Councils to improve adult and social care outreach to residents. We were brought onboard to deliver their PR  bringing attention to their AI solutions in the context of the UK Government’s Digital Transformation programme.

Results

Their pilot with Richmond & Wandsworth Councils consisted of trialling a first-of-a-kind automated outbound call communication for residents receiving adult and social care.

Our messaging focused on the need for, and the benefits of, this type of innovative approach to public services. We highlighted the fact that people across the country expect public services to be high quality, accessible and easily available whenever they are needed, and emphasised the way in which utilising Tovie AI’s products – in this case, their AI voice assistant – could help local government provide these services in a better way.

Challenges

Forming part of the Councils’ joint Digital Transformation project aimed at improving public services with the use of digital technology, the pilot was set to provide a solution to an increasingly large problem – the need for UK government bodies to innovate and digitise their services. This of course meant that a great deal of research was required on our part to set the context for communications about the project. We became familiar with the discourse around digital transformation and social care services, for example by looking at reports and data from the Central Digital & Data Office, The London Office of Technology and Innovation and Local Government Association among others, as well as information provided by various London boroughs and councils themselves. We built press lists of suitable contacts, and wrote press releases and other content with the sole purpose of explaining complicated, tech-heavy concepts in an understandable and engaging way.

Strategy

Built upon our previous experience working with the company, and drawing from our past projects dealing with the government and public sector, we were able to continue to have a strong and adaptable strategic focus in our work with Tovie AI. We were able to connect with relevant outlets that would reach our niche target audience of people who work within the public sector or assistive technology, or who are otherwise invested in improving the functionality of local government and public services. Our approach secured strong coverage in public sector focused media, with the articles highlighting the necessity and both cost-saving and quality-of-life improving nature of Tovie AI’s work – all the while attracting attention from other prospective clients. We highlighted the benefits a scheme like this would have for individual residents, council staff, and the local community as a whole, and how Tovie AI’s solution would improve these much-needed council services.
