Where do I begin? After a week of constant writing, observing, and learning (not at all the photocopying and tea-making week I’d imagined!) I think it’s safe to say I have fallen in love with this wonderful company and the incredible work that they do.
Monday morning – tired, nervous, and unsure of what to expect – I was greeted with a gracious welcome from Emily. I was then given a brief tour of the offices, handed over my schedule for the week, and set to work on the first client. No time to waste!
Next, I was welcomed with open arms to the OggaDoon team over a Skype call with the rest of the lovely team members. I couldn’t have asked for a better start to my week. Little did I know on Monday morning, that by the end of the week I would have written three blogs, an OggaDoon Loves article, and an article for a sustainable 3D printing company to go on their website!
A highlight of my week has to be the OggaDoon Loves Lunch, of course. We filled our bellies with delicious food over an amicable chat and it provided me with a great opportunity to get to know everyone a little bit better. I also got the chance to discuss my thoughts for the future. This week has played a huge part in helping me channel my thoughts into thinking about what I want to do after I finish my A-levels, as well as enabling me to become aware of where my skills lie (and perhaps where they don’t so much!).
One thing I particularly loved about my week with OggaDoon was the constant amount of praise I received – I mean, who doesn’t love being encouraged to continue with good work? The admiration of my hard work, “What are we going to do without you next week Lara?” and “Can you stay here forever?” really made an impact in motivating me and keeping me focused on the tasks I was set, as well as helping me feel reassured that I wasn’t doing everything completely wrong!
I’ve never met such a hardworking team who are so busy, yet so organised and efficient, and still managed to find time out of their hectic schedule to accommodate the needs of a work experience student. If there is one thing that has been made apparent to me this week, it’s that OggaDoon only want the very best for their clients and they won’t stop until they achieve this.
So, here I am writing this Friday afternoon, as my busy week comes to an end. Caroline, Emily, and Ella – thank you for all your help. I could not be more grateful for the endless opportunities you have provided me with this week; from meeting lots of new and interesting people to gaining valuable experience, which will come of great use in the future I’m sure.
I hope that wherever my career takes me, and whatever I end up spending my life doing, that I work in an environment as friendly and welcoming as OggaDoon. All in all, a successful week that I will never forget!

10 Things You Didn’t Know About Google Ads

Google Ads (formerly known as Adwords) is a largely daunting and confusing platform. There’s no way to just ‘hop in and try it out’ with Google Ads, forcing new people on the platform to use their Ads Wizard which is about as much help as a chocolate teapot.
